Meet Our Team

Chris Derstein
Chief Visionary Officer, Owner
As founder, Chris Derstein is Chief Visionary Officer for Relevant Audio + Visual. After touring with a worship band as keyboardist and audio engineer, he founded Relevant Sound Company, later expanding to lighting and video production, renaming it Relevant Audio + Visual. From El Dorado, Chris enjoys keyboards, flying RC airplanes, and time with his wife, Amy, and their three kids.

Ethan Neuway
Director of Productions and Design
Ethan Neuway is Production Manager and Audio Engineer at Relevant Audio + Visual. Previously, he was a Production Assistant at Pathway Church in Wichita, managing student worship services and audio for broadcasts. Ethan loves time with family and friends, traveling, mixing music, and enjoying specialty coffee.

Emily Jones
Events and Rentals Supervisor
Emily Jones is Events and Rentals Supervisor at Relevant Audio + Visual. She studied Theatrical Production and Design at Sterling College and has built a career rooted in creativity and precision. Her experience includes summer stock theatre, touring with PRG, apprenticing at the Santa Fe Opera, and working productions from New York to New Mexico. With a strong background in lighting design and live event production, Emily brings both artistic vision and logistical excellence to her role. Outside of work, she enjoys sharing cat photos and has a hidden talent for spinning a basketball on her pinky.

Andrew Keck
Event and Rentals Manager
Andrew Keck is Events and Rentals Manager at Relevant Audio + Visual. He previously served as a contractor and intern with our team before officially joining staff. Andrew earned his degree from John Brown University, where he worked on productions, musicals, concerts, and worship services. He also holds degrees in Film and Visual Effects, bringing a creative edge to his work. In his free time, Andrew enjoys watching movies and flying his drone to capture stunning aerial shots.

Bryce Bassett
Sales and Project Manager – Installation Division
Bryce Bassett is our Sales and Project Manager for the Installation Division at Relevant Audio + Visual. With more than 16 years of experience in show design, AVL installations, and technical theatre, he brings expertise in lighting, audio, rigging, and scenic design. He holds an MFA in Stage Design from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a BA in Theatre from Sterling College, and has also taught theatre design at Midland University. Outside of work, Bryce enjoys baking, cooking, smoking meat, decorating for the holidays, and traveling to Disney.

Erick Sandoval
Installation & Service Manager
Erick Sandoval serves as Installation and Service Manager at Relevant Audio + Visual. He studied Audio Engineering at Full Sail University and brings a diverse background in live production, AV installation, and management roles. With hands-on experience in audio, streaming, and integration projects, Erick is passionate about creating seamless solutions that bring vision to life.
Outside of work, he enjoys video games, pickleball, and cars. A fun fact: he’s highly competitive when it comes to bowling, mini golf, and ping pong.

Alyssa Butler
Office Manager
Alyssa Butler joins Relevant as Administrative Assistant, bringing 10+ years in marketing and retail. She holds a Bachelor’s in Public Health Science from Wichita State and an Associate’s from Cowley County Community College. Passionate about dance for 24 years, she teaches at Paquita Dance Center. Alyssa enjoys time with husband Mark, family, her dog Demi, the outdoors, and local restaurants.

Josh Day
AVL Technician
Josh Day is an AVL Technician at Relevant Audio + Visual. After working with Relevant as a contractor and intern for several years, he officially joined the team full-time in 2024. Josh graduated from Southwestern College with a degree in Worship Technology, bringing strong skills in audio, lighting, and live streaming to the team.
Josh is passionate about the AVL industry and continues to grow his expertise through hands-on experience. We are grateful for his dedication, heart for excellence, and the valuable audio skills he brings to every project.

Nathan Kampe
AVL Technician
Nathan Kampe is an AVL Technician at Relevant Audio + Visual. A Wichita native, Nathan studied at Butler Community College on scholarship with the Butler Headliners and later graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wichita State University with a degree in Media Arts. He has experience in theater productions and has worked with the Local 190 Union at Century II and INTRUST Bank Arena.
Nathan is passionate about filmmaking and excited to grow his skills in video wall operation. In his free time, he enjoys working on film projects, dreaming about snowboarding, and playing Magic: The Gathering.

Caleb Coleman
AVL Installation Tech
Caleb Coleman is an Installation Technician at Relevant Audio + Visual. He brings several years of AVL experience, with expertise in sound and lighting for both small and large-scale environments. Caleb grew up attending Life Prep Academy and later studied Audio Arts at Full Sail University. After spending a few years in Nebraska, he’s excited to be back in Wichita and continue growing with the Relevant AV family.
Outside of work, Caleb enjoys playing music with friends and at church, as well as spending time outdoors. He comes from a large family with eight siblings, four of whom are adopted. Caleb is eager to expand his audio skills and embrace the family atmosphere at Relevant Audio + Visual.
